Community invited to visit new state-of-the-art residential and dementia care home in Bournemouth
Dorset residents are being encouraged to take a look around a new purpose-built 80-bed care home which opened in Bournemouth last month.
Great Oaks residential, nursing and dementia care home, based in Poole Lane, is managed by Encore Care Homes. It opened on Tuesday June 26 following a successful Quality Care Commission (CQC) inspection.
Ian MacDonald, care home manager, will be on-hand to talk to visitors at an open day being held on Thursday July 20 from 10am to 2pm. People will be able to meet the care home team including nurses and carers, and take a tour around the facilities of the building, which is set among a private woodland setting.
Each of the rooms at Great Oaks is generously-sized with a private en-suite wetroom, movement-triggered lights, and adaptable lighting levels to suit the residents’ needs. The building also features underfloor heating for the benefit of the residents, 180-degree views of the nearby woodland area, and a landscaped garden with raised flower beds and a vegetable patch for residents to enjoy.
Ian MacDonald, manager of Great Oaks, said: “We are so proud of the new state-of-the-art care home. We provide long and short-term care to older people within a safe, comfortable and engaging environment, overseen by myself and my fantastic team of care professionals.
“We feel that we offer something special to families and loved ones, and we’d like to invite the community to come along and see it for themselves.
“Encore Care Homes is dedicated to improving residents’ wellbeing and providing the feeling of true homeliness - and I think that people will feel that from the minute that they walk through the doors.”
Ian went on to say that the staff at Great Oaks are dedicated to providing the highest standard of personalised care around the clock.
