Community gathers together for big birthday bash
A Bournemouth care home was the centre of attention earlier this week as members of the community gathered together to celebrate aa very special occasion.
Sunrise Senior Living of Westbourne threw a special birthday bash this week to celebrate 11 years since its opening.
Among the party guests was the Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Edward Coope, and three Sunrise of Westbourne centenarians.
Guests tucked into a special homemade cake and champagne while they enjoyed a performance from the Supreme Palm Court Trio, who are all members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
The performance was made all the more meaningful with Franck Laprince, a part time Sunrise team member, playing the violin.
Many of the staff members at Sunrise at Westbourne have served at the home for the entire 11 years, with many achieving Long Service awards as a result of their hard work and commitment.
General manager at Sunrise, James Glanville, said: “We were so delighted to celebrate our 11th birthday with residents, family members, friends, and the Mayor.
“In the short period of time that I have been here, I have already been able to observe that the success and longevity of Sunrise of Westbourne is a tribute to both the residents we serve and our incredibly dedicated staff members. The team continuously goes above and beyond expectations. I am so proud to be managing this fantastic care community.”
